Overview
The government of New Zealand will introduce a new median wage of $29.66 per hour, effective 27 February 2023. The new thresholds will be introduced for visa applications under the Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV), and meeting the median wage will become the minimum pay requirement for most jobs, including the following immigration schemes:
- Sector agreements
- Green List
- Highly paid work to residence pathway
- Skilled Migrant category
If a visa application was submitted prior to the increase in wage thresholds, the previously approved threshold will be accepted. For additional information on the median wage rate, check here.
