- Japan added nine additional industries to the qualification list for the Specified Skilled Worker visa
The government of Japan added additional industries to the qualification list for the Specified Skilled Worker (SSW) visa. These nine new industries include aviation, agriculture, technology manufacturing, food and beverage, food services, hospitality, building cleaning, fishing and the auto industries.
What are the Changes?
The government of Japan will expand the list of occupations listed under the SSW visa. According to the government, the addition of these new industries will help to address industry-specific labor shortages throughout the country.
The proposed expansion of industries will go under review before coming into effect by early fall 2023. Continue to check the government of Japan’s website and Envoy’s website for the latest updates and information.
