Key Points

  • Ireland will halt new applications for the Immigrant Investor Programme (IIP) from 15 February 2023

Overview

The government of Ireland will close the Immigrant Investor Programme (IIP) to new applications beginning 15 February 2023.

The government will continue to process applications that were submitted prior to 15 February 2023. The proposed closure of the IIP will not affect existing projects already approved under the programme.

The IIP pathway was introduced for non-European Economic Area (EEA) nationals who sought to secure immigration permissions on the basis of long-term investment in the country.
