The government of Canada redesigned the Canadian passport in an effort to include additional security features. The new passport will contain a polycarbonate data page that will be used to protect data along with an electronic passport chip.
The government has also been working to offer more online service options for Canadians. Beginning in the fall of 2023, Canadians will be able to renew their passport, pay their fees and upload any photographs online.
What are the Changes?
The Canadian government unveiled its new passport design on 10 May 2023. The new passport contains additional security measures to protect the data of passport holders.
