The government of Botswana loosened its citizenship laws to better accommodate Botswana nationals.
As a result, the government will no longer revoke citizenship status for:
- Botswanan nationals are married to citizens of another country who intend to acquire the citizenship of their spouses.
- No longer require Botswana nationals holding citizenship status in another country to renounce their status at the age of 21. In other words, the government will permit dual citizenship status.
