H-4 Visa: Overview and Recent Developments

Last month, the Department of Homeland Security proposed the elimination of the H-4 work authorization. H-4 visas are typically issued to the immediate family members of H-1B visa holders, particularly their spouses and children under 21 years old. A small group of H-4 dependent spouses are also able to work with an EAD.
