Canada is becoming a global hub for tech talent.
In our 2019 Immigration Trends report, we found that 63% of U.S. employers say they are increasing their presence in the country. Meanwhile, Canada is welcoming foreign nationals in large numbers: it has plans to bring in more than 1 million new permanent residents by the end of 2021.
Thanks to its immigration-friendly policies, global tech companies are flocking to expand their talent footprint to Canada, and U.S. companies are beginning to look at Canada in greater numbers as an expansion and nearshoring destination for their global talent programs.
