The COVID-19 pandemic had a significant impact on the U.S. employment landscape. Lockdowns and other restrictions resulted in an economic slowdown that led to many layoffs and a spike in unemployment. However, for many industries, the situation was more nuanced, and also impacted by immigration restrictions put in place at the onset of the pandemic. In addition, as hiring picks back up this year, many employers are finding that global talent will play a significant role in our broader economic recovery.

In this webinar, Envoy Global's Manu Sivanandam and New American Economy’s Andrew Lim present findings on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on different areas of the U.S. labor market as well as employer data from our own 2021 Immigration Trends Report to illustrate the role of foreign talent in 2021 and beyond.
