State Department Releases August 2023 Visa Bulletin

NOTE:  U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will use the Final Action Dates chart for the August 2023 Visa Bulletin. Please check the USCIS website  for more information.  

Overview     

The State Department has released the  August 2023 Visa Bulletin.  USCIS will use the Final Action Dates chart for employment-based categories. The updates below reflect information for employment-based categories.    

What are the Changes?           

In  August 2023, there are some notable changes from the July 2023 Visa Bulletin. This month there will be significant retrogression for EB-1 India, along with EB-3 for most countries except China. EB-3 China shows some advancement this month.  

EB-1          

EB-1 India will retrogress by over 10 years to Jan. 1, 2012. All other countries will move to Aug. 1, 2023 except for China, which will stay at Feb. 1, 2022.  

EB-3      

China will move ahead two months to June 1, 2019. India will stay unchanged at Jan. 1, 2009. All other EB-3 countries will retrogress nearly two years to May 1, 2020.
