The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has filed a notice of proposed rulemaking that would require petitioners seeking to file H-1B visa petitions to pay a small electronic registration fee.
What Do I Need To Know?
Should the electronic registration fee rule finalized, petitioners seeking H-1B visa petitions will need to pay a $10 fee for each electronic registration they submit to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
This proposed fee is related to the new electronic registration system USCIS states it will implement for the FY 2021 H-1B cap season. Envoy and its affiliated law firm, Global Immigration Associates, previously discussed the finalized rule.
USCIS stated the $10 fee will help pay to implement and maintain the forthcoming H-1B electronic registration system, which is supposed to be in use for FY 2021 H-1B cap season.
DHS is accepting public comments on the proposed rule from Sept. 4 until Oct. 4.
