Key Points
- The United Kingdom will require Namibian nationals to obtain a visa prior to traveling to the UK
Overview
The government of the United Kingdom (UK) will now require Namibian nationals to obtain a visa prior to traveling to the UK. These measures will apply to visit visas, work visas and more.
The changes, which come into effect immediately, will apply to all Namibian travelers to the UK. However, there is a four-week transition period until 16 August 2023 during which visitors who booked their travel before 19 July 2023 can still enter the UK.
Applications for visas can be made at a UK Visa Application Center where applicants will provide their valid passports and biometrics. The UK Government aims to process applications within 15 UK working days of receipt of the passport and biometrics, and applicants can apply up to three months in advance.
What are the Changes?
The government of the UK introduced visa requirements for Namibian nationals. According to the government, these changes will help to prevent border entry abuses.
