Overview
The United Kingdom (UK) and South Korean governments will expand their Youth Mobility Scheme on 31 January 2024. The expansion will increase the annual quota, along with the age range of applicants and the removal of the ballot process. These changes include:
- Increasing from 1,000 to 5,000
- Increasing the age limit from 18 to 30, to 18 to 35
- Applicants will no longer need to register their interest in a ballot and, instead, can apply at any time from 31 January if they meet the eligibility criteria.
