The United Kingdom: New Document Legalization Fees for 2024

  • The United Kingdom will increase fees associated with the legalization of public documents beginning in 2024  

Overview  

The United Kingdom (UK) government will increase fees for legalizing public documents beginning 1 January 2024. Legalized documents are needed in many international transactions, including overseas working visas. These changes will include the following: 

Service Current fee up to 31 December 2023 New fee from 1 January 2024 
Standard service in the UK (plus postal costs) £30 £45 
Standard (Next-Day) £30 £40 
Digital e-Apostille £30 £35 
Urgent service in the UK £75 £100 
Overseas service (in addition to indirect costs, if any) £30 £40 

 According to the government, consular office fees may also increase at the discretion of officials within each location.
