Overview
The government of the United Kingdom will transition the delivery process of biometric residence permits (BRPs) from FedEx/TNT to the Royal Mail Group on 18 September 2023. According to the announcement, the service will continue in a similar way to the previous provider; however, the key differences are as follows:
- A signature is no longer required to receive a BRP. This will be posted through the letterbox or mailbox.
- If delivery of the BRP is not possible, redelivery will need to be arranged, or the BRP can be collected from Royal Mail’s local delivery office, details of which will be provided on the ‘Something for you’ card.
- Once the BRP has been produced and collected by Royal Mail for delivery, applicants will no longer be able to change the delivery address. Therefore, applicants should ensure that the correct delivery address is added to the UKVI page.
