- The United Kingdom will extend permissions of stay for holders of pre-settlement status under the EU Settlement Scheme
Overview
The government of the United Kingdom (UK) will extend permissions of stay for holders of pre-settlement status under the EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS) if they have not obtained settled status. As a result, holders of this status will automatically have their status extended by an additional two years from the date of expiration.
What are the Changes?
The UK government will automatically extend permissions for individuals holding pre-settled status under the EUSS. According to the government, this measure will ensure that no one loses their immigration status if they have yet to switch from pre-settled to settled status.
