Thailand: Visa Exemption Policy Updates

Overview  

The government of Thailand introduced a new eligibility list for nationals who qualify for visa-free travel effective 25 September 2023. These measures will remain in place until 29 February 2024.  

Eligible applicants include passport holders or replacement passport documents from China and Kazakhstan. These applicants are permitted a maximum stay of 30 days.  

In addition, the government introduced visa exemption policies for holders of French passports. The exemption will permit uninterrupted stay or multiple entries with a total period not exceeding 90 days in any 180-day period from their entry date. 

What are the Changes?  

The government of Thailand introduced new visa-exemption measures for certain foreign nationals. The government shared that the expanded list of eligible visa-free travelers is a response to decreased tourism and travel to the country since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
