Overview  

The government of New Zealand introduced open work visas for foreign nationals students who held Post Study Work Visas (PSWV) and were impacted by COVID-19 due to the country’s border restrictions that came into force in March 2020.  

Eligible individuals will be able to enter New Zealand between 30 March 2023 and 29 September 2023. They will have the opportunity to pursue work for 12 months from the date of their entry through a 12-month open work visa.

What are the Changes?  

New Zealand's government has launched a 12-month open work visa to support foreign nationals impacted by COVID-19 who held Post Study Work Visas. The visa is available to eligible individuals between 30 March 2023 and 29 September 2023, and it allows them to work in the country for 12 months from the date of their entry.
