Overview
The government of Malta launched a new work permit pathway, called the Specialist Employee Initiative (SEI), for highly skilled foreign nationals from countries outside the European Union. The SEI is intended for foreign nationals who have signed a professional or technical role employment contract with a company registered in Malta Additional qualification requirements include the following:
- The applicant must have an annual salary of at least EUT 35,000;
- Qualify under the Level 6 Malta Qualifications Framework (MQF); and
- Hold proof of at least three years of relevant work experience.
