Overview
The government of Israel will open its electronic travel authorization system (ETA-IL) for application submissions on 1 June 2024. The program will initially be open as a pilot phase for holders of American and German passports. During this phase, applications will be voluntary and exempt from fees.
Beginning 1 July 2024, ETA-IL will be available for visa-exempt nationals entering the country for short-term purposes, excluding work, volunteering and study. The system will become mandatory to travelers on 1 August 2024.
Applications must be submitted at least 72 hours before travel. ETA-IL will be valid for up to two years upon approval and permit a maximum stay of 90 days for multiple entries.
