Germany: Schengen Visa Processing Delays for Indian Nationals

Overview  

The government of Germany announced that Indian nationals applying for a Schengen area visa will be faced with longer wait times for appointments and visa processing. Interested applicants must schedule an appointment with VFS Global, Germany’s worldwide visa processing service provider.  

According to the government, processing for Schengen visas begins once the application has reached the German consulate. Generally, this can take up to six working days. However, due to the application peak season, the average time has increased to 15 days or more.
