Overview
Due to COVID-19, the government has restricted travel outside the European Union (EU), European Economic Area (EEA), Monaco, Andorra, San Marino, Switzerland, and Vatican City, with limited exceptions.
What are the Changes?
The government is permitting travel for essential purposes only, which includes travel for professional family, and health reasons. Travel may be permitted for other reasons on a case-by-case basis.
What Should Employers and Applicants Know?
French authorities have the discretion to determine whether a foreign national’s travel reason qualifies as essential. Travelers are subject to quarantine and COVID-19 testing requirements upon arrival in France.
