China: New Conditions for 10-Year Visas

Overview  

The Chinese government will provide visa extensions to foreign nationals holding valid multi-entry 10-year visas. As a result, eligible foreign nationals are now permitted to apply for a three-year extension to their current visa without facing additional fees. Foreign nationals holding expiring 10-year visas can apply for a new 10-year visa at the point of expiration.  

What are the Changes?  

The government of China introduced new conditions for holders and 10-year multi-entry visas. According to the government announcement, these measures will assist foreign nationals who held a 10-year visa throughout the COVID-19 pandemic but were unable to enter the country due to COVID-19 restrictions.
