The government of Ontario, Canada, will increase the province’s minimum wage to $16.55 per hour beginning 1 October 2023. This change will mark a 6.8% increase and will result in an annual pay increase of nearly $2,200 for individuals working 40 hours per week.  

What are the Changes?  

Ontario’s government will increase its provincial minimum wage by 6.8% beginning 1 October 2023. According to the government, this change will benefit low-income workers in the province.
