Canada: New Status Renewal Fees

  • Canada introduced new filing fees for foreign nationals submitting status reauthorization application forms 

Overview  

Beginning 1 December 2023, the Canadian government will raise fees for various immigration services. These fee changes include the following: 

  • Authorization to return to Canada: CAD 459.55 (up from CAD 400) 
  • Rehabilitation (inadmissible due to criminality): CAD 229.77 (up from CAD 200) 
  • Rehabilitation (inadmissible due to serious criminality): CAD 1,148.87 (up from CAD 1,000) 
  • Restoring status as a visitor, worker, or student: CAD 229.77 (up from CAD 200) 
  • Restoring status as a worker with a new work permit: CAD 384.77 (up from CAD 355) 
  • Restoring student status with a new work permit: CAD 379.77 (up from CAD 350) 
  • Temporary resident permit: CAD 229.77 (up from CAD 200) 

What are the Changes?  

The Canadian government introduced new filing fees for foreign nationals submitting status reauthorization application forms. The government noted that these fees will be adjusted annually for inflation every December 1.
