E-Visa Requirements

The Brazilian government extended its visa exemption policies for nationals of Australia, Canada and the U.S. until 10 April 2025. After this period, nationals of these countries will be required to apply for an e-visa. The e-visa, costing $81, can be obtained online at brazil.vfsevisa.com and will be valid for 10 years for U.S. citizens and five years for Canadians and Australians, allowing multiple entries. Processing time is up to five business days, but longer timelines are anticipated.

To obtain the e-visa, travelers register on the website, provide personal and passport details, pay the fee, and await approval via email. If approved, the e-visa is sent as a PDF file to be presented during boarding and upon arrival. Travelers are advised to print two physical copies and capture a screenshot on their mobile device. Unlike consular visas, the e-visa process is entirely online.

According to the announcement, the reinstated visa requirement addresses reciprocity issues.
