On Monday, the U.S. Supreme Court let President Donald Trump’s latest travel ban take full effect even as legal challenges continue in lower courts. Trump will now be able to bar or restrict entry by people from Syria, Libya, Iran, Yemen, Chad, Somalia, North Korea and Venezuela, even if they have a relationship with a U.S.-based person or institution.
According to Reuters, “The court, with two of the nine justices dissenting, granted his administration’s request to lift two injunctions imposed by lower courts that had partially blocked the ban, which is the third version of a contentious policy that Trump first sought to implement a week after taking office in January.”
If you are from one of the affected countries and in the United States our Envoy-affiliated law firm, GIA, does not recommend that you travel outside of the U.S. at this point in time.
