Having a deeper understanding of F-1 OPT early in the year can help HR teams better answer questions from foreign talent and prepare for the cap application process. For many foreign nationals, the university system is their entry point to the U.S. workforce. In addition, companies benefit from hiring international students on the F-1 visa. The process of hiring F-1 visa students with OPT work authorization involves several steps and requirements for employers.

The F-1 OPT: A Deeper Dive webinar grants attendees one CRP® and one GMS® recertification credit through Worldwide ERC. This webinar grants attendees one general HR Certification Institute credit toward the PHR, SPHR, GPHR, HRMP, or HRBP certification programs. Attendees pursuing SHRM-CP℠ or SHRM-SCP℠ recertification are also eligible to receive one SHRM PDC. The continuing education certifications allow HRs to demonstrate a mastery of industry operations, best practices and regulations.
