Britain has been preparing trade agreements with other countries for a post-Brexit landscape:
Switzerland: Recently, the Swiss government approved a trade agreement with Britain that aims to maintain existing trade
and economic relations after it leaves the EU
• This agreement will serve as a basis for trade relations between the two countries after the transition period expires.
• But if there's a no-deal Brexit, the 2018 agreement "makes it possible to replicate in substance the vast majority of
trade agreements that currently regulate relations between Switzerland and Britain."
Japan: During a Jan. 2019 meeting, PM Theresa May and Japanese PM Shinzo Abe pledged to secure an "ambitious
bilateral arrangement" between their two countries after Brexit.
• Recently, Japan and the EU reached a trade agreement.
Ukraine: Ukraine's Economy Ministry is expecting to start official negotiations with the UK concerning a new cooperation
and trade agreement between the two countries this year.
• The new free trade agreement will be like Ukraine's existing agreement with the European Union
