Switzerland Visa Requirements for Vanuatu Nationals

Starting 4 February 2025, Vanuatu citizens will need a visa to enter the Schengen area, including Switzerland. This change addresses security concerns related to Vanuatu’s citizenship programs.

Since 2015, Vanuatu nationals have been exempt from short-stay visa requirements. However, due to the increased number of passports issued to foreign investors without adequate checks, the EU has suspended exemptions for passports issued after 2015. Now, this requirement will extend to all Vanuatu citizens.

Switzerland will adopt this regulation and update its Ordinance on Entry and the Granting of Visas accordingly.
