Digitization of Immigration Processes in Slovakia 

On 27 November 2024, Slovakia approved amendments to the Act on the Residence of Foreigners and the Act on Asylum. These changes will digitize processes for registering foreigners.  

  • Electronic Services: Foreigners can now use electronic services for various applications, such as residence renewals and visas. 
  • Administrative Efficiency: The changes aim to streamline communication, simplify administrative procedures, and reduce the burden on authorities and applicants. 
  • Document Changes: Holders of temporary asylum from Ukraine will receive ID cards for better security and mobility. 
  • Accommodation Rules: New migrants from Ukraine will have a reduced stay period in asylum facilities and modified accommodation allowances.
