Income Requirements for Icelandic Citizenship
As of 1 February 2025, Iceland will require residence permits and citizenship applicants to prove they can financially support themselves. As a result, the following requirements will apply:
- The monthly reference amount for individuals aged 18 and older will increase from 239,895 ISK to 247,572 ISK.
- For married couples, the amount will rise from 383,832 ISK to 396,115 ISK.
These amounts refer to pre-tax income and will apply to applications received on or after February 1, 2025.
