- Finland will implement automated monitoring for work permit holders to ensure compliance with key requirements and support efforts against labor exploitation and human trafficking
Automated Monitoring for Finnish Work Permits from January 2025
Finland will start automated post-decision monitoring for residence permits for employed persons on 20 January 2025. This aims to ensure permit holders continue meeting requirements. It applies to first permits issued after 1 January 2024 and extended permits issued after 1 January 2023.
This monitoring will focus on key criteria, like income thresholds, and help improve permit processes. It supports the Government’s action plan against labor exploitation and addresses human trafficking.
Similar monitoring is already used for students, startup entrepreneurs and specialists.
