UK: Travel from Nigeria to England Allowed for Eligible Travelers

Overview

Beginning Oct. 11, 2021, the U.K. government will allow fully vaccinated travelers from Nigeria to travel to England without needing to provide a pre-departure test, undertake a day 8 test or self-isolate for 10 days. Travelers will still be required to book and pay for a day 2 test. To qualify, individuals must be: 

  • Vaccinated with any of the following: AstraZeneca (including Covidshield), Pfizer, Moderna and Janssen (Johnson and Johnson); 
  • Have completed a full course of an approved vaccines at least 14 days before arrival in England; 
  • Prove they have been fully vaccinated under a vaccination program and have a valid proof of vaccination recognized by the British Government 

For individuals who have been fully vaccinated in Nigeria, the certificates with valid QR codes as issued by Nigeria’s National Primary Health Care Development Agency are recognized. Unvaccinated travelers from Nigeria to England must adhere to all testing and self-isolation requirements. For more information click here.  

What are the Changes?  

Fully vaccinated travelers from Nigeria will be eligible to enter the U.K beginning Oct.11, 2021, without being required to self-isolate and take multiple COVID-19 entry tests. This will allow for easier entrance into the U.K. for fully vaccinated travelers from Nigeria.
