Like many countries, Canada is in the midst of a sizable outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

The ongoing pandemic has impacted Canada’s immigration and mobility programs significantly. The government, which was originally seeking to attract hundreds of thousands of immigrants this year, is now putting in place new travel restrictions in order curb the spread of the virus.
