Colombia: Steps for Validating Foreign Issued Degrees

Overview 

The government of Colombia introduced additional information for the validation of higher education degrees obtained outside of the country. The government of Colombia requires foreign-issued degrees to be translated into Spanish and duly apostilled or legalized.  

From there, foreign nationals can submit the documents to the appropriate officials in Colombia, who will ensure that the applicant holds the same or relevant academic qualifications as those granted at a Colombian higher education institution.  

What are the Changes?  

The government of Colombia issued information on the validation process for academic degrees obtained outside of the country. According to the government, the most common degrees to be validated include those for technicians and technologists, undergraduate and bachelor's degrees, and master's or medical specialties and doctoral degrees.
